Slow Down and Enjoy Life

Do you ever feel like there’s not enough time to get all things on your to-do list done? Who doesn’t right? I’m a planner and a doer. At the beginning of each week I take out my planner and I write all the things I want to accomplish that week. Let’s just say a lot of things didn’t get done this week. Ever have those weeks where you wished you could function with less sleep or simply just had more time? This week was one of those weeks for me.

Last weekend my sisters, a few friends, and I went to Austin for a weekend getaway. I hardly ever go anywhere outside of Houston guys, and I mean hardly ever. Honestly, I don’t feel the need to take “vacations” at this moment in my life. There’s just too many things I want to accomplish within the next few years and they require a lot of time.

The weekend in Austin was amazing. We ate some delicious food from, did a little hiking at Mount Bonelle, drank great wine, etc. It was great being able to get away from the everyday routine and just go out and explore. I loved it.

Once we got back, the week just flew by for me. I had all these things I wanted to work on but I either didn’t have enough time or didn’t have the energy to, and you know what I realized that it was ok to skip a week without being as super productive as I hope to be. It’s ok to skip a week of not doing my weekly videos because I honestly wasn’t in the “zone” to create one. It’s ok if you didn’t get the chance to walk your dog all week! Many of you reading are probably over achievers and doers. You might have a hard time relaxing without doing anything. Don’t beat yourself up if something goes undone, you know you will mark it of the list soon. I always say to myself as long as I know I’m doing the best that I can, that is all that matters.

My message for you today is simple, remember to give yourself a little break. 🙂 Just relax. Treat yourself to some you time. You deserve it my friend.
