Thoughts on Thanksgiving

In recent years, the Thanksgiving holiday has become one of my favorite holidays. I remember when I was younger, in my middle school years, Thanksgiving simply meant eating lots of yummy food and a break from school which was awesome of course! But I don’t think I realized what the true meaning of the holiday was.
Now I see Thanksgiving in a whole new light. I see it as such a precious day to spend quality time with family and friends, to create memories and to bond with one another. Holidays for me never meant the typical scene of a large Hispanic family. When my parents immigrated here to the U.S from El Salvador they left most of their family members behind. I have never gotten the chance to meet most of my aunts, uncles, and even cousins. Sometimes I do wish I had a bigger family to be around during the holidays but then I bring myself back and I think about my mom and sisters and I’m so grateful for them.
I think our bond has gotten closer after my dad passed away 5 years ago. I cherish the relationships I have with my mom and sisters now more than ever. Today I wanted to share with you all a few things that I’m particularly thankful for this year.
*Having a great job that I truly enjoy
*Being able to wake up and chase after my dreams each day
*My loving boyfriend David (he’s my biggest supporter, love you boo!)
*Morning runs when I catch the sunrise
 *My Husky, Luna (love her!)
 *Books!
Now it’s your turn, my friend!
What are a few things you are grateful for?

Remember to take a moment each day to reflect back on all the goodness in your life. There’s so much of it all around you.
Wishing you love, success, and a lifetime of bliss!
